Brandi Carlile New York reviews
Brandi is a Rock Goddess at the Height of her Powers
I’m hard pressed to think of a better show I’ve seen. Brandi Carlile is at the peak of her abilities in 2022, and exuded that confidence and charisma throughout every second of her 2+ hour show. She came out swinging with Broken Horses, as good a rock song as anything written this century, and didn’t slow down from there. She played her bigger hits (The Story, The Joke), as well as some of her more thoughtful back catalog stuff. She covered Radiohead’s Creep, and did just enough to turn it into a soaring rock ballad worthy of Britain’s finest weirdos. She also threw in a lovely cover of Space Oddity for good measure. Special shout-out to the incredible orchestral quartet that accompanied her, as well as the twins. The opening act from the Indigo Girls was a fun warm up, and they sound as good as ever.
